Elon Musk believes that his ex-girlfriend, Grimes, is a simulation he built in his mind, according to a new BBC documentary. This is the latest weird revelation from Musk’s personal life.
The same documentary, The Elon Musk Show, states that Grimes agrees with the theory.
The Canadian singer was already 31 years old when she met Musk, but her age does not appear to have influenced her perspective on the hypothesis.
In a recent interview, Grimes, whose real name is Claire Boucher, reportedly discussed Musk’s mind-bending hypothesis with journalist Devin Gordon of Vanity Fair.
‘She told me repeatedly that Musk believes she is a simulation produced by him and existing in his cerebral brain as a sort of ideal companion,’ he claims.
‘Which seems a bit strange and possibly a bit disturbing, except that she agrees with it. She stated that she did feel like this simulation that was built specifically for him.
Musk has dabbled with the philosophical notion known as the’simulation hypothesis’, which holds that our universe – and everyone in it – is really a simulation in a computer somewhere in another reality that we can never access or observe.
‘If you assume any rate of improvement, games will soon be indistinguishable from reality,’ Musk stated on the Joe Rogan Experience in 2018, concluding, ‘We’re most likely in a simulation.’
