A woman who ordered a $66 cake for her baby shower was left devastated after it arrived looking nothing like the photo. The dessert was supposed to be made from cupcakes with a fondant top in the shape of a baby body shirt. Instead, she received what was described as a ‘cheaper’ version of the advertised cake.
The woman shared her experience on Facebook, saying that she was crying after seeing the cake. Some social media users thought she was overreacting, while others agreed that the cake did not look like what she had ordered.
In another dessert fail, a nurse named Megan Turner shared a video of the cake she received for her parents’ 30th wedding anniversary. She had requested an elegant sponge cake in the shape of ’30’ with icing on top and decorations. Instead, she received a cake that barely resembled what she had in mind.
The ‘3’ looked like a sideways ‘m,’ and the ‘O’ didn’t even have a hole in the middle. The video has been viewed by over two million people, and social media viewers were shocked.
One viewer said that they would be asking for their money back, while another said they wouldn’t have taken the cake or paid for it. Another summed it up by saying that it was much worse than they were expecting. These dessert fails show the importance of managing expectations and ensuring that orders are filled accurately.
