MOTHER ABANDONS CHILD AND FLEES WITH STOKVEL MONEY IN KZN

A 12-year-old boy from KwaZulu-Natal was abandoned and forced to care for himself for five days after his mother disappeared with stokel money.

Early on Saturday, January 21, a youngster arrived at the Tongaat Operations Center of the Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA).

The child disclosed to the on-duty controller that he lived with his aunt in Umlazi, KwaZulu-Natal.

Approximately two weeks ago, he visited his mother in Emona, KwaZulu-Natal, for the holidays.

When the youngster awoke one morning, he could not find his mother.

He realised afterwards that she had disappeared with the funds gathered for Stokvel.

He was left alone for five days before the landlord of his mother spotted him.

The minor is unable to provide RUSA members with information on alternate family members.

If anybody can help locate the child’s family, please call RUSA on 086 1234 333.
