He was conversing with a friend when he noticed that something had fallen from above, narrowly missing his coffee.

After leaving the BBC earlier this year, he vowed to “ruffle feathers.” But it was Andrew Marr who was annoyed by pigeons while having coffee with a companion.

Bewildered, the pair was observed searching around in an attempt to determine where the object originated.

Two pigeons perched high on a ledge were identified as the perpetrators, putting an end to the mystery.

The two quickly realized the humor, but the risk of another catastrophe was too large, so they relocated to the opposite side of the cafe.

The former editor of The Independent resigned from the BBC after 21 years this year.
