Monnapule Saleng offered a new contract by Orlando Pirates

According to reports, Orlando Pirates midfielder Monnapule Saleng has signed a new deal with the club after an outstanding first ‘half’ of the 2022/23 season.

After returning to Buccaneers from Swallows FC on loan, 24-year-old Saleng has been in outstanding form for the Soweto giants.

He assisted the club in winning their first prize of the season, the MTN8 trophy.

“According to a KickOff club source, the Buccaneers have offered Saleng a new, improved contract.

When promoted to the main team, all players signed from the First Division and development academy sign a contract. There is a condition that allows them to receive enhanced contracts based on their performance and conduct in the first team, according to the KickOff website.

“Saleng has performed admirably to obtain a better contract. The fact that he currently plays for Bafana Bafana justifies the Pirates’ decision to grant him a better contract.”

Meanwhile, Orlando Pirates will return to league play on Friday, December 30 against Mamelodi Sundowns at Loftus Versfeld following the 2022 FIFA World Cup break.

The start time is 15:30.

Orlando Pirates are now in fifth place in the standings with 19 points after 13 games, while defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns are in front with 28 points after just 12 contests.
