After the COVID-19 epidemic triggered global lockdowns and travel restrictions, the Balinese tourist sector is regaining ground gradually.

Australia has traditionally been a major tourist destination on Bali, accounting for a fourth of the island’s annual visitors.

However, Indonesian officials vowed a crackdown on disruptive Australian visitors earlier this month after a series of social media videos depicting Westerners indulging in risky behavior appeared.

Tourists who are expelled from Bali are normally prohibited from reentering the island or the rest of Indonesia for at least six months and maybe longer.
