After an amazing maiden season at Chloorkop, Miche Minnies is eagerly anticipating the upcoming season with increased hunger and vigor.
The right-footed attacker who joined Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies from Vasco da Gama Ladies scored an astounding 23 goals across three competitions as the Tshwane giants retained their Hollywoodbets Super League title superbly and reached the final of both the 2022 COSAFA qualifiers and the 2022 CAF Women’s Champions League.
Minnies, who created an explosive attacking tandem with Boitumelo Rabale, is pleased with how she has integrated into Coach Jerry Tshabalala’s schemes.
“It is a great honor to play for Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies since it has given me the opportunity to play with a number of talented players. In addition, I am proud of the insightful advice I have received from some of the squad’s veteran players. “The chemistry I’ve developed with my fellow strikers in such a short period of time is extremely important to me,” Minnies said.
The 21-year-old scored on her debut as Sundowns Ladies defeated Ma-Indies Ladies 2-1 in the recently ended Hollywoodbets Super League match. In the second match versus Golden Ladies, Miche scored twice to help The Brazilians to an 11-0 triumph.
In the 10th round of the Hollywoodbets Super League, she scored all four goals in a 4-0 victory over First Touch Ladies, which was one of her most impressive performances of the year.
Minnies, who concluded the season with 22 league goals, two less than Rabale (24 goals), chose her best memories from her first year with the club.
“Since joining this distinguished club, I’ve experienced a number of lovely occasions. Four goals in a single game and reaching two continental finals are among the highlights of my rookie campaign. Although I am pleased with the number of goals I have scored, I was thrilled to contribute to the team’s overall achievement, which included the retention of the Hollywoodbets Super League. It brings me great satisfaction to aid my colleagues, as we are designed to fight for one another,” Michie continued.
The quick forward’s goals for the upcoming season include maintaining the team’s momentum: “Next season will be a huge one for us because we will be aiming to win every competition we enter. On a personal level, I hope to improve upon my performance in my first season and win additional championships with this amazing club. I hope to compete for a spot on the Sundowns Ladies squad because the level of quality is so high. “I am not satisfied with my past accomplishments, and I am eager to excel whenever I am asked to do so.”
