Michael Slater was hospitalized after violating bail

Michael Slater, a former Australian batsman and cricket pundit, was taken to the hospital shortly after being detained on suspicion of violating his bail.

The 52-year-old was detained last Thursday night in Freshwater, on Sydney’s northern beaches, after a lady made many calls to triple-0 over an alleged disturbance.

Officers discovered Slater may have violated his bail, and he was then transported to Manly Police Station.

Later on, he was checked into Northern Beaches Hospital for a mental health evaluation.

In order to safeguard the lady he was with at the time of his detention, police have also requested an interim apprehended violence order.

With a number of severe offenses, including assault, stalking, intimidation, and breaking bond, Slater is presently free on stringent bail.

Slater is not allowed to physically harm, threaten, follow, harass, or intimidate the 53-year-old lady.

After drinking or using illegal substances, he is not allowed to approach her or be in her presence for at least 12 hours, according to court records.

The beauty therapist’s house or place of business must be at least 100 meters away from him.

As a part of his bail requirements, Slater is also prohibited from consuming alcohol or using medicines that are not authorized by a physician.

After domestic abuse charges were dropped due to mental health issues in April, he was mandated to follow a one-year mental health treatment plan.

In another alleged incident, Slater is also out on bail for allegedly attacking a 35-year-old woman in the same month.

Between 1993 and 2001, the former opening batsman for Australia played 74 Tests and 42 One-Day Internationals, scoring 14 hundreds.

Several years later, he began commentating.

After criticizing then-Prime Minister Scott Morrison on Twitter when he was in the Maldives during the Indian Premier League’s suspension due to the epidemic, he was fired from Channel Seven’s cricket coverage in October of last year.
