Melbourne pregnant woman hit-and-run in Coburg, fractures leg

After a pregnant woman was knocked to the ground and abandoned on the side of the road with a fractured leg, police are looking for the driver.

On August 26 at about 10am on Sydney Road in Coburg, the Melbourne woman was reportedly hit by a red Ford Hatchback as she was getting out of her parked vehicle.

The motorist reportedly drove into the left lane while moving northward, colliding with the woman and knocking her to the ground.

According to police, the motorist struck the woman but did not stop.

The woman’s fractured leg was treated at a hospital after being transferred there.

Victorian police have asked anybody with knowledge or dashcam video to come forward after releasing photographs of the red Ford Hatchback on Thursday.

A 62-year-old woman who was struck by a vehicle in Queensland and put into an induced coma while battling for her life prompted the appeal for information regarding the event.

The elderly woman was discovered on Marine Parade in Southport at 10:45 p.m. on Wednesday and was taken in serious condition to Gold Coast University Hospital.

The woman was struck and carried roughly 30 metres down the road while beneath the automobile, as shown on CCTV video.

Without getting out of their car, the driver made a brief halt before moving on.

The Audi was last spotted travelling north on Marine Parade and is described as a modern white sedan with a black top.

The driver and anybody who knows the location of the driver or has access to nearby CCTV or dashcam video are both wanted by Gold Coast Police.

Call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-333-TIPS if you have any information regarding the two hit-and-run incidents.
