Massive’ missile onslaught strikes targets throughout Ukraine

According to Ukrainian sources, Russia bombarded Ukraine with missiles on Friday, destroying energy facilities and knocking off power while people took refuge in bomb shelters across the country.

According to regional officials, the most recent of three large waves of missile attacks since October targeted vital infrastructure in the eastern province of Kharkiv, the Black Sea region of Odessa, and west-central Ukraine’s Vinnytsia.

Russia, which invaded Ukraine in February, has been attacking Ukrainian energy infrastructure since October, resulting in widespread power disruptions at the beginning of winter.

Moscow asserts that the attacks on fundamental infrastructure are militarily justifiable. Ukraine asserts that assaults designed to cause human suffering constitute war crimes.
