Massachusetts murder-suicide kills four family members

In Lynn, Massachusetts, four family members have been discovered dead after a lady is accused of killing three of her male relatives in a shooting spree that spread over three different sites within a mile of one another.

As many as 20 gunshots were heard at the scene, according to witnesses, and the woman, 31, is accused of shooting two males, ages 34 and 66, at a residence on Rockaway Street.

Just before 3 o’clock on Tuesday, Lynn police officers responded to reports of gunfire and arrived on the scene just in time to discover the dead.

The lady was recognised by police as a potential suspect, and around 4.30 pm, they discovered her body inside her vehicle at a Stop and Shop parking lot about a mile from the first crime scene.

She apparently self-inflicted her gunshot wound, according to a police statement.

A guy was subsequently discovered dead inside a car that was parked outside Laighton St., about half a mile from the scene of the woman’s death.

According to sources who spoke to WHDH, one of the fatalities is the suspect’s father, and authorities assumed that the third guy was also slain by the same suspect.

Just after 10 o’clock at night, police could be seen taking a corpse from a minivan and transferring it to the state medical examiners’ van before towing the automobile away.

There is no risk to the public, according to Police Chief Christopher Reddy, who also revealed that all four of the persons were connected.

Authorities have not yet recognised any of the family members or revealed their familial connections.

Authorities said in a statement that they are in touch with the deceased’s next of kin.

The loss of several lives, according to Lynn Mayor Jared Nicholson, was “devastating.” He said, “Our prayers are with the victims of this tragedy, and we extend our deepest sympathies to the families involved.”

“While the inquiry is still under progress, we have been informed that the community is not currently in risk.”

We urge that while public safety officers are still conducting their investigations, the public respect the family’s right to privacy.

One horrified neighbour called the situation “scary” as they recalled seeing Lynn police and Massachusetts State Police trucks clog the normally peaceful neighbourhood.
