Mason Greenwood was granted bail after a private hearing

Monday, he appeared before the Manchester Magistrates’ Court and was remanded into jail.

Wednesday, a bail hearing was held in private at the Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court.

A court spokesperson announced after the hearing that bail had been granted, with the restrictions that the defendant not contact witnesses, including the complainant, and dwell at a particular address.

Greenwood, who was absent from the brief hearing, is scheduled to return to court on November 21.

Each charge pertains to the same woman.

The athlete was arrested for the first time in January for alleged sexual misconduct with a young woman after photographs and videos were uploaded online.

Since then, he had been on bond, but he was detained on Saturday for allegedly violating restrictions.

Greenwood, who has made one appearance for England, was prohibited from playing or training with the Old Trafford club within hours of the claims appearing online at the beginning of the year.

Nike suspended and subsequently canceled its sponsorship agreement with the player, and Electronic Arts verified his removal from active squads in FIFA 22.

Greenwood, a product of the United academy, has appeared 129 times for United and scored 35 goals. In February of 2021, he signed a new contract that would keep him at Old Trafford until at least 2025.

In September 2020, he earned his England debut against Iceland, but he and Manchester City midfielder Phil Foden were sent home for violating the team’s coronavirus criteria.
