Mascot Uzor Kalu Promises to rehabilitate Abia as he becomes APP Governorship Flag Bearer

Former Abia State Chief of Staff, Chief Mascot Uzor Kalu, has promised to rehabilitate, rebuild, and restore security in a new Abia.
He also urged the electorate to brace themselves and join him in bringing Abia the positive change it needs by voting for him at the polls.
Chief Mascot Uzor Kalu, speaking at the APP Secretariat in Umuahia shortly after emerging as the party’s Candidate through an affirmation process, said the mandate to save Abia would be fulfilled by him with the support of all Abians.

While defining the APP as a people-oriented movement that has come to reposition Abia with her rich resources for the benefit of the people during the election, he emphasized his resolve to develop Abia State if elected.

Despite the state’s wealthy economic basis, the APP Gubernatorial Candidate decried the awful conditions in Aba, the state’s commercial nerve center, and promised free elementary and secondary education, as well as payment of workers’ paychecks on or before the 25th of every month.

His words, “Among other candidates of other parties, I am the only one that has a Government House experience, having been a former Chief of Staff in Abia.

“We will be building physical and stomach infrastructure and also ensure a viable local government system.”
He solicited the support of all Abians to team up with APP in rescuing Abia State and promised job creation, security, industry, good workers’ welfare as well as youth employment.

He equally promised unity, peace and influx of local foreign investors into Abia State, adding that all revenue generated in the State would be utilised for the transformation of the State.

Ticketing for the Senate, House of Representatives, and State House of Assembly was also done by consensus, with former Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Arua Arunsi, being elected as Candidate for the Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency through affirmation.

Signor Kanu was elected to the Abia South Senatorial District, Chijioke Nduka to the Abia Central Senatorial District, and Hon Ifeanyi Adije to the Abia North Senatorial District.

In the case of Aba North/South, Christopher Iboko was elected as the candidate, while Sylvanus Nwaji was elected as the Ukwa East/West ticket winner.

Ikwuano/Umuahia was won by Rev Nnamdi Ogbuagu, while Hon Vincent Alilionwu won Isiala Ngwa North/South and Sunny Mgbaghuru won Osisioma/Obingwa/Ugwuagbo.

At the Primaries, the Party’s 24 State House of Assembly Candidates were likewise elected using the same affirmative process.
Security agencies and officials from the Independent National Electoral Commission were present during the ceremony (INEC).
