Martin Lewis wins prestigious TV Expert award

At the National Television Awards on Thursday, Martin Lewis won the prestigious TV Expert award and delivered an emotional acceptance speech.

When the 50-year-old presenter of the Martin Lewis Money Show entered the stage at London’s OVO Arena Wembley, he spent no time criticizing Liz Truss’ administration and the challenging winter that families would face.

The financial wiz talked passionately about the “awful” and “disastrous” year the nation had had due to the energy crisis, saying many people had been left with “severe troubles and mental health problems.”

He added: “We need someone to get a hold on the economy and bring things a little bit back,” as if to ridicule Truss’ harshly criticized ideas.

He remarked, “Whoever says we’ve had enough of specialists, no we haven’t, we need them more than ever right now,” indicating that he thought 2023 may be just as dire.

Martin entered the room and remarked, “I’m rather astonished. When you’re up against a worldwide treasure like David Attenborough, you don’t generally expect to win.” Whoever claimed, “We have enough specialists; we don’t; we need them now more than ever,” is incorrect.

Thank you so much to Claire, Angelica, and everyone at the Martin Lewis Money Show, as well as to the online team who provide me with the data and do the analysis for Money Saving Expert, said a visibly moved Martin.

Financially speaking, it’s been a really dreadful year, and the energy situation has been devastating, leaving many people with tremendous troubles and mental health concerns.

I’m worried that the next year will be difficult due to the mortgage issue and its impact on rent.

You know what else? Someone needs to take control of the economy and bring things back a little bit.

But it will be on my program next Tuesday; this geek is going to party tonight. I appreciate it, and good night.

Later, the celebrity published a smiling photo of himself and his wife, 43-year-old Lara Lewington, accepting the dazzling trophy on social media.

He added: “#NTAs.” Thank you to everyone who voted; I’m still floored. Having your backing is a big honor. I seldom ever drink; maybe once a year, but perhaps tonight. The 2018 NTAs were televised live from Wembley’s OVO Arena, a brand-new location, with Joel Dommett presenting.

When This Morning was named as a candidate for the Best Daytime Award at the National Television Awards, several audience members booed Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby.

In September, the presenters were accused of jumping the line to visit the Queen laying in state, a charge they both rejected. This put them in the middle of the “queuegate” scandal.

The program won the Daytime prize despite the criticism the broadcasters faced, according to Phillip, who added that the honor “means so lot to us every year, particularly this year.”

At the presentation, which was place at the OVO Arena in Wembley, London, other major prizes were Peaky Blinders for returning drama, Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly for best presenter, Anton Du Beke for TV judge, and Emmerdale for serial drama.

After the victory, Phillip addressed the crowd and pleaded with them not to believe we ever take anything for granted or get complacent. Every year, but particularly this year, this means the world to us. Our boss is the finest.

Holly said, “This Morning has a really unique connection with you; you truly make our program.” Everyone on the stage, including Alison Hammond, Dermot O’Leary, Rochelle Humes, Vernon Kay, Josie Gibson, and everyone else. I appreciate all of your help.

Additionally, Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnnelly won the Bruce Forsyth award and won Best Presenter for the twenty-first straight year.

Unfortunately, the television team was unable to receive their honors since they were both sick with Covid and were forced to remain at home.

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here won the Bruce Forsyth Award! Danny Miller, a star of Emmerdale who won the series the previous year, as well as other actors from the 21st season, accepted the award.

Danny stated: “Stephen Mulhern is in the audience, so I’m not sure why he’s not accepting on their behalf. Ant and Dec have Covid, so they are unable to be here tonight.
