An attempt by one Mr. Sodade Sesan to steal a motorcycle, popularly known as Okada, led to the slitting of the neck of the bike rider, Mohammed Bashiru.

Sodade, a 40-year-old man, reportedly threw Bashiru by the road after the attack, then made away with his N450,000-worth Bajaj Boxer motorcycle, registered as SGM 220 WA.

According to reports, the incident happened on April 4 at about 10 am around the Anglican Church, Ode-Remo, Remo North Local Government Area of Ogun State.

Sesan had approached Bashiru, who was in search of passengers, pretending to be one.

They both agreed on N800 to convey Sesan to and fro Iperu.

However, Sesan discovered at Iperu that his initial destination “was not suitable to carry out his evil intention”.

He then asked Bashiru to proceed to the Abuja Bar area in Ilisan Remo, where he slit the right side of the victim’s neck, pushed him off the bike, and snatched the motorcycle to an unknown destination.

The Commandant of the Amotekun Corps in Ogun State, David Akinremi, disclosed that the suspect removed the number plate of the motorcycle and dumped it in a latrine in his residence.

He was said to have taken the stolen motorbike to a burial ground at Kehinde Avenue, Isara-Remo.
