Man and woman stabbed in Melbourne

On Thursday night, a man and a woman were stabbed in the middle of Melbourne.

According to police, a woman stabbed a man on Flinders Street in Melbourne’s central business district in the terrifying 5pm attack.

Before police pounced on the suspect and arrested her close to the victims, the same woman first attacked another woman farther down the same street.

The man and woman who were stabbed have both been taken by ambulance to the hospital with what are reportedly not life-threatening wounds.

A man was stabbed near the intersection of Downie Street and Flinders Street, and barely 50 metres later, on the corner of Spencer Street, the suspected attacker allegedly struck a second woman.

Police in the neighbourhood set up a crime scene and diverted traffic.

Due to a police incident, the southbound lanes between Collins Street and Flinders Street are restricted. Please heed the directions of emergency personnel and think about taking King Street instead,” Victoria Traffic tweeted.

The incident’s precise circumstances have not yet been determined, but police are still looking into them.

There will be more.
