Man, 37, charged with unlawful stalking and willful exposure in Brisbane

In connection with two alleged instances on Brisbane’s northside, a man has been charged with willful exposure and unlawful stalking.

On the afternoon of April 4, it is thought that the 37-year-old Mitchelton man approached a teenage girl who was out walking along the Kedron Brook bikeway in Gaythorne.

He allegedly rode a bicycle after her to an address on Belleview Street.

A 37-year-old man has been charged with unlawful stalking and wilful exposure in relation to two alleged incidents on Brisbane's northside (pictured, police arresting the man at a Mitchelton address on Monday)

The male allegedly left the scene after the girl entered the house.

Furthermore, it is claimed that in December 2021, the man exposed himself to a 49-year-old woman at a Keperra train station.

During proactive sweeps of the bikeway on July 13, officers discovered the man.

He allegedly fled from the cops when they approached him, though.

The man was taken into custody on Monday at a Mitchelton house by members of the North Brisbane Tactical Crime Squad.

His charges include unlawful stalking, wilful exposure, breach of bail and obstruct police.

His bail was refused, and he is expected to appear before Brisbane Magistrates Court.

Inner West Patrol Group Inspector Corey Allen said: ‘We’re grateful to local residents who report suspicious and criminal behaviour, which in this case helped us put an alleged offender before the court.

‘Everyone has the right to feel safe in their community, and we encourage anyone who witnesses incidents like these to contact police.’
