Mamelodi Sundowns youngster to feature in TotalEnergies Women’s Africa Cup of Nations finals.

Youngster Katlego Malebane of Mamelodi Sundowns will fly to Morocco to serve as one of the ball ladies at the current TotalEnergies Women’s Africa Cup of Nations final.

The Under-15 prodigy from South Africa will be the only ball girl present when Banyana Banyana and the hosts Morocco square off in the thrilling championship match.

Katlego, who is presently being mentored by Rhoda Mulaudzi of the first squad, was thrilled about the chance.

“I’m thrilled to hear that I’ve been chosen to represent South Africa as a ball girl at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations final.

I’ll have the chance to watch some of the top female African footballers compete for the top honors.

The 13-year-old girl went on to discuss her time with Mamelodi Sundowns thus far, saying, “I started off playing for the club at the age of eight.

I initially played with the lads before switching to playing with the girls.

I’ve liked my time with the team, and the coaches have been really concerned with my growth as a young football player.

Nomsa Malebane, Katlego’s mother, thanked Mamelodi Sundowns for giving daughter the chance to hone her trade.

“When we learned that Katlego was traveling to Morocco, we were ecstatic.

Because this opportunity means so much to the family, tears of delight started to fall down my cheeks.

We are incredibly appreciative of the club’s efforts in recognizing this child’s talent.

We extend our gratitude to the youth squad’s coaches, scouts, and other team members.

In addition, Nomsa lauded Katlego’s qualities, saying, “She is a very observant and instinctive young lady.

She is a tremendous asset because she is observant and sharp during games.

She will engage with her peers and professionals in Morocco, which will extend her perspective.

I implore all parents to carefully observe their children and their keen interests.

They have a lot of ideas that may be used positively, therefore I beg them to listen and take care of their needs,” Nomsa said in his conclusion.

As South Africa and Morocco face battle in a tantalizing match to decide who will win the continental showcase, Katlego will be hoping to make the most of her expertise.

We congratulate Katlego and send our warmest wishes to Banyana Banyana.
