Male inmates vanished from the Townsville Correctional Centre’s prison farm in North Queensland on Monday night

Three inmates who broke out of the prison farm at the Townsville Correctional Centre in North Queensland on Monday night are the subject of an extensive manhunt.

Between 6.30 and 7.30 p.m., the male detainees disappeared from the low-security facility, but Queensland Corrective Services is unsure of their whereabouts.

In the vicinity between the Bruce Highway and Southwood Road, police have set up road barricades and issued a ‘do not approach’ warning to the general public.

For violent offenses, two of the three are currently incarcerated.

For armed robbery, Les Noel Noble is currently serving a four-year prison sentence.

While Preston Donald Zane Quakawoot served a nine-month prison term for attacking a police officer.

Layne Rex Newman, the third member of the group, was sentenced to one year and three months in prison for breaking into homes without using force or making threats.

The males are wanted by the police, so anyone with information on their whereabouts is encouraged to stay away and dial 911 right once.

More will follow.
