45-year-old prison librarian sexually abused male inmates six times over eight months

Sharon Mawdsley, 45, is accused of molesting multiple men at the Kirkham Jail in Lancashire, where she worked until July 2018.

A female prison librarian stands accused of sexually assaulting male inmates over the course of eight months.

Sharon Mawdsley, 45, is accused of molesting multiple male inmates at the Kirkham Jail in Lancashire, where she worked until July 2018.

She denies a total of nine charges, including three counts of misconduct in public office and six counts of sexual assault against men.

Mawdsley is alleged to have molested numerous men at Kirkham Jail in Lancashire where she worked until July 2018

All are alleged to have occurred between December 1, 2017 and July 5, 2018, a period of eight months.

During a brief hearing at Preston Crown Court, Mawdesley, of Blackpool, Lancashire, spoke only to confirm her name and enter not guilty pleas to all nine charges.Mawdsley (pictured in 2018) denies nine charges in total, three for misconduct in a public office and six for sexual assaulting men

Judge Heather Lloyd granted Mawdesley unconditional bail and set his trial date for September.

In January, she will appear before the court once more.
