MailOnline readers are showing off their best bakes, cakes, dressed-up for the Platinum jubilee

The second day of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations in the United Kingdom is well underway, and MailOnline readers are displaying their best bakes, cakes, corgis, crowns, and even a ‘Queen made out of hay all for Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee Celebrations…

The second day of a four-day bank holiday weekend in the United Kingdom began today with a Thanksgiving service at St Paul’s Cathedral in central London. Great Paul, the country’s largest church bell, weighing 16.5 tons, pealed at 10.50 a.m. to herald a service of thanksgiving for the Queen’s long reign.

After falling silent since the 1970s due to a broken mechanism, the bell was only restored in 2021. It has only been rung eight times since then, and none of them were for a royal service.
Her Majesty had hoped to attend the service but was forced to withdraw after experiencing ‘discomfort’ on the first day of celebrations.

‘Taking into account the journey and activity required to participate in tomorrow’s National Service of Thanksgiving at St Paul’s Cathedral, Her Majesty, with great reluctance, has concluded that she will not attend,’ said Buckingham Palace in a statement last night.
