Love Island character gist

Every viewer of the dating program Love Island anticipates a few bad males. How awful of a boy must you be, though, for a significant women’s charity to issue not one, but two warnings about your behaviour?

Should you really be allowed back on the reality program a second time if you’re that much of a bad boy?

Rosie Williams, a previous competitor, has been considering these issues since Adam Collard returned to the villa four years after his initial stay there caused such controversy.

She was the victim of Collard’s bad behaviour, which was so heinously vile that the charity Women’s Aid called him out on it and accused him of gaslighting and emotional abuse – smirking while she was crying about his cruelty, painting her as “needy,” and saying she had “pushed him away” when she tried to voice her hurt. Fans assured poor Rosie that she was too good for him, nevertheless, despite their agreement that his behaviour was inappropriate.

While it would be wonderful to believe that Adam, now 26 years old, had finally received his comeuppance in the intervening years, it appears that life does not operate that way.

. Toxic Trunks was the first Love Island competitor to return to the ITV2 show this week, seeking another chance at fame and money.

Although she has been reluctant to comment, insiders close to Adam allege that his “only chats about returning to Love Island were when he was single.”

It has been said that he ended his two-year relationship just two months ago in order to make his comeback.

So why did the Love Island producers invite Adam back? They have already come under fire for failing to protect participants’ mental health in the wake of the suicides of two former islanders.

Rosie, who participated in Love Island in 2018, says, “Ratings.” “Isn’t the TV gold?” I asked. I got it. Everyone is mentioning him and sharing old videos. There are undoubtedly viewers who only tune in to see him.

“I understand all of it. However, there was a young girl who endured unpleasant circumstances behind all of that. a young lady who was degraded on national television.

The 30-year-old continues, saying in the third person, “I want to give her a hug.” As I watched the video, I was in tears for her.

Although I was 26 years old, it seems like I was much younger. He made no remorse. There isn’t any regret.

Women’s Aid has released a new statement, expressing their outrage that he has been asked to return.

Rosie correctly called out Adam for his reprehensible behaviour, which includes gaslighting and emotional abuse, during the 2018 season of Love Island, the charity stated.

Considering that Adam has been requested to return to the show, we hope ITV understands how important this issue is and that it must be learned from.

Many young people watch Love Island, and we are all aware of its enormous influence. Producers must ensure that participants receive ongoing assistance and step in if any relationships turn toxic or abusive.

The executive producer of Love Island, Mike Spencer, insisted that competitors are always protected while ITV stated yesterday night that “The mental health of contestants is always our greatest priority.”

Additionally, he defended the program, claiming that it depicts the highs and lows of “real people and real relationships.”

Nevertheless, when it was revealed that Adam was coming back, Rosie’s phone “exploded” with messages. “People asking, “What on earth do they think they are doing, welcoming him back and encouraging that kind of behaviour? I hope you’re ok,’ she says.

Is she all right? Yes, that’s true, but her story of her time on Love Island surely refutes the notion that it’s just a harmless kind of entertainment.

When Rosie decided to leave her profession as a solicitor to appear on the show, she was seduced by the prospect of experiencing a “summer of fun.”

She was “open for finding love” after recently ending a year-long engagement with someone who wasn’t “The One.”

Adam walks in looking handsome, a beefcake with an ego as big as his muscles. He is a 6ft 5in personal trainer from Newcastle who more proudly displays a ten-pack than a six-pack.

After he abruptly dumped Kendall, his first companion on the show, they dated for around nine days.

She admits that their brief romance was nothing, but in terms of Love Island, they were actually dating.

She is adamant that is how it feels. “You spend every waking hour with the person.” They share your bed with you. You soon become close to someone in a way that is unthinkable in the real world.

She was essentially infatuated. He was a little bit of a… What word is that? He wasn’t exactly the friendliest, was he? She concurs. He treated me poorly. I now recognize that.

Adam ignored Zara McDermott when she arrived at the club, just as he had pushed another girl aside to get to Rosie.

When Rosie complained to him about being treated badly after learning that he had called her needy and clingy from another participant, he responded with his signature smile, which prompted articles about misogyny and masculine superiority.

Also back is the sneer. Last week, viewers saw it repeatedly as Adam made his rounds in the villa and explained to the girls why he believed their existing relationships weren’t working.

His remarks to his companion Paige regarding fellow candidate Jacques O’Neill sparked an outburst from Jacques. A sad Jacques made the decision to depart the villa the following day.

Rosie responds, “I was texting my best buddy about that.” She claimed that the smirk was identical. I remarked, “I KNOW!” And he was employing it once more on a target of intimidation. He is, let’s face it, a frightening individual.

Although he has a strong physique, it’s the sneer that makes you uncomfortable. I imagine that many viewers would have felt bad for Jacques. It undoubtedly brought up memories for me, and they weren’t good ones.

Being embarrassed and humiliated in such a way in front of the entire country is quite public. And it was painful for me. It hurt a lot. Considering how vicious he actually was, I dislike watching the footage now.

I’ve never spoken to him, and when I hear him talk about me in interviews, I get the impression that he still believes I was the issue. I was labour-intensive for him.

There is no admission that he didn’t handle the circumstance very well. That’s just Adam, though. He is charming. He is currently charming every single girl, you can see it.

However, based on my personal experience, I would advise the girls against dating Adam. I would undoubtedly recommend doing that.

Although Rosie admits that her “break-up” with Adam was difficult, she claims that it was his actions in a later episode that left her “in bits” and nearly made her leave the show.

Being forced to participate in a standard Love Island “task,” which required the females sitting on the boys’ knees, facing forward, and allowing them to apply their makeup from behind, crushed her heart because Adam had moved on to Zara.

Perhaps it was meant to be a lighthearted joke, but all Rosie can recall is Adam’s strength and her own helplessness.

I was being forced to wear this makeup while seated on his lap. He had power over both my face and body because we were not permitted to assist them. I looked like a mess and felt quite vulnerable as he was pushing it in rather violently.

He then moved on to do [the same challenge] with Zara, and I remember it hitting me that he was being so loving with her as I was sobbing on the bed with all this gunk all over me.

I came to the realization that the boy was being cruel to me because he had grown to dislike me in favour of someone else.

“It wouldn’t be acceptable if someone was hurling eggs or paint over someone else.”

Why was having your makeup pressed on you and smudged any different? I mean, I started crying. It is visible in the video. “Either you get me off this set now, or I walk off,” I recalled telling the producers.

She doesn’t, however, point the finger at the producers. They design the tasks, but they have little power over how people act. After that, when I was just sobbing uncontrollably on my bed, they gave me embraces.

‘I actually requested to see the show’s psychologist and expressed my concern at what I perceived to be his bullying behavior.

She claimed that was a completely reasonable response to what had occurred. She would have been more concerned if I had dismissed it.

Shortly after, Rosie left the villa after being rejected by another male participant.

However, she has her doubts about that and wonders if her exit was really more about the producers thinking that it would be best for her to go.

Although she avoids using terms like “abuse,” stating that “I don’t want to link what happened to me to the true abuse that women suffer,” she nonetheless concurs with Women’s Aid that behaviour like this has to be addressed.

Which I demonstrated in the show. I confronted him about it. I had power.

The country believed that I was in the right, but when it came to a subsequent media career, he was the one that everyone coveted. I was promptly forgotten.

“I remember how shocked my representatives were when they told me I would receive all the offers, but I didn’t.” To raise Adam, there was a push. Everybody coveted him.

Sadly, they continue to do so.

How does she feel about their inviting him back, even if she doesn’t hold the producers responsible for what transpired back then?

She sighs. “I understand, but it’s not great to feel like he’s getting praise.” It’s important to draw viewers to the program.

It’s part of what they do. I will nevertheless maintain that what occurred to me wasn’t acceptable.

It would be wonderful to assume that Rosie returned to practising law and ascended to the position of hot-shot prosecutor of violent men after she sobbed her way out of the Love Island villa.

She does admit to me that she would want to “work in the field of domestic violence” if she went back to practising law.

Instead of pursuing the nearly mandatory post-Love Island job as an online influencer, she hasn’t. It has been a difficult road.

Her goal was to build a social media following so she could utilize it to start a career in fashion by creating workwear.

She did create a corporation, but the timing was problematic. Not long later, Covid struck, and offices were empty. She then admits that she became a little emotionally unhinged.

I was collaborating with numerous businesses on the influencer marketing front, but they all demanded that I wear beautiful Love Island bikini outfits, which I refused to do.

She appeared to have a breakdown due to the pressure of figuring out her post-Love Island career. “I received a transplant after my hair started to fall out.” I gained a few stone in weight, which made everything into a vicious cycle.

I preferred not to wear a bikini. I felt depressed. I spent some time with a counsellor.

But she managed to get herself together with her family’s assistance.

Her prior Instagram postings have all been deleted as of late in an effort to reinvent herself by “only working with brands I want to work with, and doing stuff I feel comfortable with.”

How is her love life going? This is the heartwarming part, I suppose.

She claims that having a more Instagram-friendly relationship with a different reality TV celebrity would have been ideal for her agency.

Instead, she hurried back into the arms of Wayne Davies, the 34-year-old corporate banker she’d been in a relationship with before Love Island, after taking some time in the villa to reevaluate her priorities.

Rosie claims that he abhors the program and “won’t even watch it.”

She admits, “I missed him.” I recall thinking, “Wayne would never speak to me like this or treat me like this,” when everything with Adam was going wrong. He respects me far too much.

I began to perceive things differently.

We both got back together after being separated by Love Island, and we’re now looking for a lifetime home to start a family in.

Did Love Island change her perception of the kind of man she wanted?

Oh, so much. You need to find a best buddy, I told a single friend the other day.

You go on looks in Love Island because you have to, but it’s not the most crucial factor. You need to be surrounded by caring people.
