Love Island bombshell Jay Younger’s is also related to a football legend

New Love Island bombshell  Jay Younger and Gemma Owen have something in common: they both have a football legend as a relative!

In scenes set to show Tuesday night, Jay, 28, is about to enter the infamous Majorcan estate.

The investment analyst, like Michael Owen’s daughter, has a family connection to the beautiful game, since his grandfather, Tommy Younger, used to play for Liverpool FC.

‘He was Scotland’s captain in the 1950s,’ Jay exclaimed. ‘He was in the hall of fame for Liverpool and he was in the hall of fame for Hibernian FC.’

Younger had a successful international career, being capped 24 times by Scotland in a three-year period.

He made his debut against Portugal in a friendly international at Hampden Park in Glasgow on 4 May 1955.

Younger also had the distinction in playing goalkeeper for Scotland at the 1958 World Cup in Sweden. His appearance against Paraguay in the finals was also his last for the national team.

He became vice president of the Scottish Football Association in May 1983 after retiring.

Younger held the job for eight months, until his death on January 13, 1984, at the age of 53.

Isn’t it only a matter of time until Jay and Gemma start sharing sports stories?

We’ll need Gemma to confess to her fellow islanders who her father is first…

Jay, the new bomdshell, believes he has everything most women desire. ‘I’ve got a good job, I think I am a good looking lad and I have a lot of fun so I feel like I could add a lot of value to their lives if they add a lot of value to mine,’ he boasted.

‘I think I’m at the point in my life where it would be quite fun to find someone and have fun along the way,’ Jay said of his decision to participate in Love Island.

‘And doing it in Mallorca and in the Villa would be a great opportunity, so why not?’
