Lizzo “reshaped history” using James Madison’s flute

Lizzo feels it’s her responsibility as a well-known celebrity with a significant platform to “reshape history.”

She claimed to have rewritten history in part by performing in Washington, DC, earlier this month while using James Madison’s 200-year-old crystal flute from the Library of Congress.

Lizzo told Vanity Fair, “When people look back at the crystal flute, they’re going to see me playing it.” “They’ll see that James Madison once possessed it, but they’ll also see how far we’ve gone for someone like myself to be playing it in the capital, and I think that’s a fantastic thing.”

She said, “I don’t want to leave history in the hands of those who support bigotry and tyranny. “It’s my responsibility to rewrite history as someone with a platform,”

Lizzo commemorated the momentous day with her show.

“Bitch, I just twerked while playing James Madison’s antique crystal flute!” Lizzo exclaimed while playing the flute on stage.

She said, “We just created history tonight!” to the crowd. “We are grateful to the Library of Congress for protecting our history and elevating history to a whole new level of awesome. History is so awesome, you guys!”

While many people applauded Lizzo for her historic flute performance, a number of Republicans questioned the action, particularly the singer’s twerking and the clothes she wore.

When asked about the present situation in the United States, particularly the recent Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, Lizzo responded, “It’s always been about white male dominance in this country and the individuals who are complicit in helping sustain it.”

Black people, particularly Black women, have seen a great deal of dehumanization, she said. “I feel really hopeless because of how Black women have been treated in this nation. There was never a period when [we] received fair and respectful treatment, in my opinion.”
