Lisa Loring, who originated the role of Wednesday Addams on the original “Addams Family” television series, has passed away. She was 64 years old.
Loring was taken off life support on Saturday after having a “massive stroke,” according to a Facebook post by her friend Laurie Jacobson.
Jacobson stated, “I am deeply saddened to report the passing of our friend Lisa Loring.”
“She suffered a major stroke brought on by smoking and hypertension four days ago. She was on life support for three days.
On Saturday, Loring’s family decided to discontinue her life support, and she died overnight.
Jacobson continued, “She is woven into the fabric of popular culture and will always be Wednesday Addams in our hearts.”
The Addams Family co-star John Astin, who played her father Gomez Addams, with Loring.
Loring was just 6 years old from 1964 to 1966 when she played Wednesday.
She also appeared in the CBS epic soap opera As the World Turns and the sitcom The Pruitts of Southampton.
