Levi Bellfield, a notorious British serial killer who is currently serving life sentences for the murders of Marsha McDonnell, Amelie Delagrange, and Milly Dowler, has reportedly confessed to the brutal murder of Lin Russell and her six-year-old daughter in Kent in 1996.

Bellfield has signed a document outlining the details of the killings, which he is said to have committed with an accomplice.

The confession has been passed to the police for investigation.

Michael Stone is currently serving three life sentences for the murders, but has always protested his innocence.

The confession from Bellfield is expected to bring closure to the families of the victims.

Paul Bacon, Stone’s solicitor, has called on the police to investigate the crimes afresh following Bellfield’s confession.

Bellfield is a former bouncer and wheel clamper from London who has 11 children with three women.

He was convicted of abducting and killing 13-year-old Millie Dowler when she was on her way home from school in Surrey in 2002.

He was also found guilty of murdering 19-year-old Marsha McDonnell in 2003 and 22-year-old Amelie Delagrange in Twickenham a few months later.

In 2011, he was sentenced to a whole-life term for the murder of Dowler.

Bellfield’s engagement to a woman who began writing to him two years ago before becoming a regular visitor has caused controversy in the UK.

The woman, who is said to be blonde and in her 40s, has not been identified.

Ministers have objected to the engagement, while Prime Minister Boris Johnson has said he is “sickened and appalled”.

However, it is still legal to marry in prison with the permission of the governor.
