It unfolded in their Highgate home on Grand National day when a plumber was fixing their washing machine.
Amanda rushed in and exclaimed that they needed to place a bet on the Grand National.
Les was taken aback and questioned her.
He then handed over a £10 note, suggesting a bet. Amanda, however, insisted they should wager more.
Les proposed £20, and it was at this point that the plumber chimed in with a humorous remark, saying, “Kids eh?” Les reflected on this moment, jesting that it might have been a hint.

Les and Amanda tied the knot in June 1995, but their marriage faced challenges five years later when Amanda had an affair with Neil Morrissey.
Although they managed to reconcile briefly, their romance eventually ended in late 2002, leading to their divorce in 2003.
