Laspppa Solicits Support Of Residents To Curb Arbitrary Physical Developments

The Lagos State Physical Planning Permit Authority (LASPPPA) has solicited the support of residents in its quest to end unauthorised physical developments in different parts of Lagos by reporting construction works that pose threats to the lives and property of Lagosians.
The General Manager of LASPPPA, Tpl. Kehinde Osinaike, made the call recently in his office at Old Secretariat, Ikeja, while reviewing the monitoring and enforcement activities of the Authority as part of strategies to curb the culture of flagrant disregard for Physical Planning Permit Laws.
Osinaike, who assured whistleblowers of confidentiality, urged the good people of Lagos State to consider and make it part of their social responsibilities to report every infraction on the State’s Physical Planning Permit Laws in their locality to the State Ministry of Physical and Urban Development at The Secretariat, Block 15, Alausa – Ikeja or to the Head Office of Lagos State Physical Planning Permit Authority at Oba-Akinjobi Way, GRA Ikeja.
His words: “The identities of all whistleblowers will not be known to the general public and all the complaints and reports would be accorded necessary attention and treated as matters of urgency”.
Additionally, the General Manager encouraged members of the public to report all infractions of Planning Permit Laws to any of the 40 District Offices of LASPPPA nearest to them in different parts of the State.
He added that all complaints, reports and petitions can be directed to any of its handles on Social Media platforms or by Whatsapp Messages to 08023146227 and 08054076551.
Restating that LASPPPA remains committed to ensuring even and orderly developments of physical structures that are safe to live and work in across the State, Osinaike promised that the Authority and other MDAs in the built environment will continue to encourage property owners/developers to conform with the State’s Physical Planning Permit Laws.
The General Manager also warned recalcitrant and criminal-minded property owners/developers to desist from constantly flouting the procurement and application of physical planning laws of the State which are tailored to benefit the society at large.
