Lagos State Parastatals Monitoring Office (PMO) urges Parastatals/Agencies and other Government-owned Organizations in the state to embrace cooperation and teamwork to enhance policy and programme execution

The Lagos State Parastatals Monitoring Office (PMO) has urged the Managing Directors, General Managers, and Executive Secretaries of Parastatals/Agencies and other Government-owned organisations in the state to embrace collaboration and teamwork in implementing government policies and programmes to achieve better results.

Mr. Afolabi Ayantayo, Special Adviser to the Governor on Parastatals Monitoring, gave the advice at a workshop for the heads of parastatals on the theme “Power of Synergy: The Ideals of Lagos State Government,” organised by the PMO, expressing the need to collaborate for enhanced performance and better results in their various areas of operations.

“Synergy is key to maximum performance and better results than individual efforts because it promotes strength, unity, easy and timely attainment of targets, and quick resolution of challenges,” he says.

It will also accelerate the State Government’s efforts to provide basic social amenities and infrastructure to residents of the State.”

Ayantayo, on the other hand, cautioned that teamwork does not imply abandoning individual responsibilities, but rather embracing cooperation and partnership to enable all involved to achieve more than their individual efforts.

Earlier in her welcome address, the Permanent Secretary, Pharm. (Mrs.) Toyin Oke-Osanyintolu, stated that it is critical for MDAs to work together, through effective collaboration, to help achieve the goals of Governor Babajide Sanwo-administration. Olu’s

“In achieving the T.H.E.M.E.S development agenda of the current administration, it is important that all MDAs work together through effective collaboration and not in isolation,” she says of parastatals, agencies, and other government-owned companies.

Dr. Folayinka Dania, a facilitator and Lagos State Chief Resilience Officer, said synergy would help reduce operational costs, improve the exchange of best practices, and reduce overlapping in carrying out assignments and functions.
