LAGOS STATE GOVERNMENT STARTS PROMOTION EXERCISE FOR YEAR 2022

The Lagos State Government has begun the process of promoting eligible employees to the next grade level.

The activities began on Monday, June 6, 2022, with the Revised Structured Training Programme (RSTP) running concurrently at four different locations: the Adeyemi Bero Auditorium in Alausa, the Folarin Coker Conference Room in Alausa, the Women Development Centre in Agege, and the State Treasury Resources Centre in Ikeja.

Mrs. Olubunmi Fabamwo, Chairman of the Lagos State Civil Service Commission, stated at the Adeyemi Bero Auditorium that the RSTP was organized as part of the criteria for the Year 2022 Promotion Exercise for eligible Public Servants in the State.

Mrs. Fabamwo revealed that nearly 6000 officers took part in the Cross-Cutting training, which would be followed by the Job Specific Course, which will prepare officers for higher-level responsibilities.

The Chairman went on to say that the training sessions will help officials understand the Lagos State Government’s varied policies in respect to specific job schedules and cadres.

Performance Improvement Course II for officers in Grade Levels 7–9 and Performance Improvement Course III for officers in Grade Levels 10–12 are the sessions that eligible employees must attend.

Mrs. Fabanwo went on to say that the subjects will cover the T.H.E.M.E.S Agenda as well as the previous Development Agenda of the Lagos State Government; supervisory and basic management functions; power and relationships; developing imagination and creativity; communication and writing skills; 21st Century skills and service delivery, among others.

Around 3,390 eligible officers from all cadres of the civil service are expected to participate in the promotion exercise, which will include virtual and physical interactive interview sessions.
