Labour MP says Rishi Sunak “isn’t a win for Asian representation”

Because of Rishi Sunak’s enormous personal fortune, a Labour MP has caused internet controversy by asserting that his appointment as prime minister is “not a gain for Asian representation.”

The Socialist Campaign Group’s Nadia Whittome, an MP for Nottingham, alleged that the next British Prime Minister was “not on your side.”

The 26-year-old Labour MP with Indian ancestry wrote, “Rishi Sunak as Prime Minister isn’t a gain for Asian representation.”

He is a multimillionaire who, while chancellor, lowered taxes on bank profits while presiding over the largest decline in living standards since 1956. He is not on your side if you are employed, whether you are black, white, or Asian.

After being called by Labour headquarters and being instructed to remove it, her tweet was subsequently deleted.

Mr. Sunak will become the first Hindu prime minister in the history of the UK, the first of Asian descent, and the youngest person to assume the position in more than 200 years at the age of 42 thanks to his victory on Diwali.

‘Special Diwali wishes to ‘living bridge’ of UK Indians as we transform historic ties into modern cooperation,’ wrote India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a tweet congratulating Mr. Sunak.

A member of parliament named Raghav Chadha tweeted: “The UK gets an Indian-origin Prime Minister today as India celebrates Diwali in its 75th year as an independent nation. History has completed its circle.

In addition, Sanjay Chandarana, president of the Vedic Society Temple, which Mr. Sunak’s grandfather helped found 50 years ago, said that Mr. Sunak’s appointment as prime minister would necessitate the use of more fireworks during Diwali celebrations and that he would serve as a “inspiration for young people.”
