Kwazulu Private Ambulance Service rescues Hiker at Umthumvuna Nature Reserve

Late this morning, reports of a hiker who had fallen prompted Kwazulu Private Ambulance Service to send an ambulance to the Umthumvuna Nature Reserve.

When the emergency services showed there, they discovered that a hiker had fallen about two kilometers down the trail.

In addition to NSRI, SAPS Search and Rescue, and Ray Nkonyeni Fire and Rescue services, paramedics hiked to the patient and discovered that they had suffered a major leg injury.

After being stabilized, the patient was moved by an NSRI boat back to a secure location where an ambulance was waiting to take them to the hospital.
