Wednesday, Krishnan Guru-Murthy held an in-depth interview with the Minister for Northern Ireland over Suella Braverman’s resignation as Home Secretary.

Following the interview, the live feed went to the residence of Prime Minister Liz Truss. Guru-Murthy assumed he was no longer broadcasting, but his remarks were picked up by adjacent livestreams.

In a video clip that has now gone viral on social media, a Channel 4 News anchor stated, “It wasn’t a foolish question, Steve; you know that.” I would gladly face you on [Prime Minister Liz] Truss any day. What a jackass!’

Mr. Baker told Times Radio that the incident was “unfortunate,” adding, “If it violates his code of conduct, I hope they fire him.”

Guru-Murthy delivered an unreserved apologies for the error last night.

“After a contentious conversation with Steve Baker, MP, I uttered a very inappropriate word in an unguarded moment off air,” he explained.

“Although it was not broadcast, using that word in any context is beyond the standards I set for myself, and I sincerely apologize.” I’ve gone out to Steve Baker to express my regret.

Mr. Baker responded, “I appreciate the apology. Thank you.’

On Wednesday night Guru-Murthy issued an unreserved apology over the blunder. 'After a robust interview with Steve Baker MP I used a very offensive word in an unguarded moment off air,' he said. 'While it was not broadcast that word in any context is beneath the standards I set myself and I apologise unreservedly. I have reached out to Steve Baker to say sorry'

After Ms. Braverman was forced to resign for emailing a confidential document from her personal email, the two engaged in a heated debate.

The representative defended Ms. Braverman in the interview, stating that she had “great integrity” by admitting her error and submitting her resignation.

Guru-Murthy disputes Mr. Baker’s claim that Ms. Braverman would have continued in her position had it not been for the error.

In her official resignation letter, Ms. Braverman took “obvious potshots” at Prime Minister Liz Truss, according to the anchor.

She claimed that when people made “mistakes” – something that Ms. Truss has admitted to – quitting was the correct action.

“This government appears to be a joke,” Guru-Murthy stated. This is yet another instance of this government’s incompetence, correct?

Guru-Murthy delivered an unreserved apology for the error earlier this evening.

However, Mr. Baker stated that “tensions are inevitable during resignations” and that he expects Ms. Truss will be able to reappoint Suella in the new year.

It is understood that Ms. Braverman and Ms. Truss, who were rivals in the Conservative leadership contest, clashed last night about immigration and visa policies.

As part of Ms. Truss’s drive for growth, she was under pressure to approve a plan to liberalize migration regulations in order to support the economy. The former minister appears to have emailed a member of the parliamentary staff with information on the new policy, leading to speculation that she attempted to destroy it.

One Tory MP close to Ms. Braverman told MailOnline of the security breach, “It’s the sort of thing you give a rap on the knuckles for and go on – unless you want to get rid of somebody.”

The representative stated that Ms. Braverman was dissatisfied with the party’s stance on immigration and warned that other resignations may be imminent.

I have the sensation that an avalanche is imminent.
