The host of Location, Location, Location urged college students to “sacrifice” living at home throughout their studies since it could make “an enormous difference” in their ability to save for a property deposit.
In an interview with Times Radio, she said: ‘ If you choose to go to university, near your family, and you spend those three years living at home, if you’re able to do that, and it’s a great sacrifice to do so, but it can make an amazing difference.
Kirstie Allsopp, a television presenter, advised young people to begin saving as soon as possible if they wish to climb the property ladder.

Kirstie also revealed that she was able to buy her first home at the age of 21 with some help from her parents.

She informed them, “When I purchased my first property, EasyJet, coffee, the gym, and Netflix did not exist.
I used to carry a sandwich on my way to work. And on payday I would order pizza, see a movie, and purchase lipstick.

She noted that while it is challenging to climb the property ladder, individuals should not “fall into the trap of believing it’s impossible.”
