A dog owner is forced to hit an off-leash bull mastiff in order to save his pet

A horrified dog owner revealed that he used his weighted fitness vest to repel an off-leash bull mastiff that was attacking his dog.

Bogdan Soactar, a Perth-based attorney, was walking his American Staffordshire bull terrier named Snowball when the bull mastiff attacked them.

At approximately 9:20 p.m., the loose dog spotted Mr. Soactar and his dog from across the street before sprinting over and attacking them.

In the terrifying incident, Snowball, a seven-year-old, 25-kilogram rescue dog, was picked up by the scruff of the neck and thrown around ‘like a toy’ by the bull mastiff.

Mr. Soactar courageously removed his weighted fitness vest in order to strike the dog until it released Snowball.

She subsequently survived a risky operation, but doctors have warned that she may not make it to Christmas due to a possible facial infection.

Mr. Soactar said to WA Today, the bull mastiff’s owner asserted that the dog had slipped the leash.

According to him, he was infuriated by the woman’s refusal to identify herself after the attack.

Mr. Soactar stated, “She said, ‘Your dog is fine, it’s just scared.’” I’d like to protect other potential victims and pay for her veterinary care.

Snowball was treated by Perth Vet Emergency in Yokine, and the surgery cost $4300.

The owner of the bull mastiff appeared to be in her fifties or sixties, with a tanned complexion and an English accent.

The driver of a white MG stopped at the scene, and it is believed he knows the woman.

Mr. Soactar needs assistance identifying the bull mastiff’s owner.
