Kim Kardashian discusses the difficulties of handling the Balenciaga affair

Kim Kardashian is speaking out following the criticism against Balenciaga.

The 42-year-old reality star discussed everything from co-parenting with Kanye West to what her staff wear on Angie Martinez’s “IRL” show Wednesday, with the recent Balenciaga scandal following their controversial ad campaign being one of the hottest subjects.

“When it came to Balenciaga, everybody was like, ‘Why aren’t you speaking out?’ Why are you remaining silent?’” Kardashian told the host of the podcast. “And I’m like, ‘Wait. I do not support this campaign. I have no idea what is occurring. Let me take a moment to investigate this.’”

The advertisements, which depicted children cradling teddy bears dressed in BDSM-inspired attire, prompted considerable outcry on social media, and many turned against the Skims founder for not speaking out sooner.

The “Kardashians” actress, who has collaborated with Balenciaga for years, stated that she “totally spoke out” after “seeing what everyone was witnessing on the internet and the truth of the situation.”

At the time, the mother of four tweeted that she had not yet spoken publicly because she “needed an opportunity to talk with their team to understand how this could have occurred for myself.”

Kardashian sat down for a wide-ranging interview on her life with the media figure.

Kardashian added that she was “shaken by the horrible photos” and stated that “any attempt to legitimize child abuse of any type has no place in our culture, period.”

“But because I didn’t yell, ‘F—k you, Balenciaga. People became angry at ‘That’s it,’” she told Martinez. “They’ll be angry if I don’t speak up. They will be angry if I speak up and if I don’t cancel.”

Noting that “I couldn’t have been clearer that this is awful and upsetting,” Kardashian added. “If they didn’t hear what they wanted to hear, it’s f— you, you’re canceled.”

Numerous celebrities have abandoned contracts with the designer due to the contentious advertisements.

The fashion and beauty mogul, who revealed she never reads social media comments, stated, “No matter what, you can’t win. But I’ll still be me.”

Kardashian has been a literal walking billboard for the now-controversial company Balenciaga (and starred in their official ad campaigns as well), but recently, she has reportedly rejected a future campaign.

And when it comes to the continual criticism of her family and the opinions of others, Kardashian — who described herself as a “cool person mentally and emotionally” — revealed that she typically takes it all in stride.

“I’m like a robot. Like, half robot,” she laughed.

In March, the reality personality wore a Balenciaga-branded warning tape catsuit.
