Khaya Mthethwa releases new record after focusing on himself

Khaya Mthethwa has returned to the music industry with a brand-new album just in time for the holiday season.

The preacher and father of one, who took a sabbatical from social media to focus on himself, discussed his new image with IOL Entertainment.

Mthethwa’s most recent album is titled “Art & Worship (Live)”, on which he sings about his hiatus and surviving the pandemic within the context of worship.

I’m constantly challenged when I hear individuals singing pure scripture! Todd Delaney has had the biggest influence on this. I’m thankful that God placed this song in my head while I drove to Johannesburg to see my kid during the lockdown. #ArtAndWorship photo by @fZM37FmKw6

Mthethwa said, “I recently released an album and took time to reflect and take stock of my life, as well as disengage from things I would normally do, so that I could dig deep in retrospective and get inspired, listen to people’s stories, and really connect with things that have happened to me or to others.”

Recently, he made an announcement on Twitter that he no longer had a circle. His tweet left Twitter users perplexed; he has since explained himself.

I no longer have a circle; I just have one individual!

“What I meant was that it is a creative analogy. It indicated that I am not dependent on humans, but rather on God; I know where my source is, so it’s not definitive that I have no one around me, but it is definitive that I know where to place my reliance.

Mthethwa, who also undertook the challenge of reducing weight and maintaining a healthy lifestyle, explained that he did so in an effort to better himself.

“It was all a part of growing stronger and determining where I can improve. I was overweight and I wanted to address that as part of the process of being physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually well as a whole person.

“I wanted to ensure that I am feeling as fantastic as I am singing,” he remarked. “Am I genuinely feeling nice?”

Mthethwa encouraged fans and followers to stay tight to his social media channels, where he will announce his schedule of live performances and holiday appearances.
