Katie Maloney attributes their failed marriage to Tom Schwartz’s bar.
Schwartz and his business partner Tom Sandoval eventually opened their new bar, Schwartz & Sandy’s, on Wednesday’s program. The pair threw a party for the Daily Mail.
Maloney, however, broke down in tears as the beginning reminded her of the reasons why the couple’s romance ended.
She confessed, “I’m trying to be excited for Tom, but this bar has a very complicated history.” It placed a tremendous pressure on our relationship. It simply had a much greater impact on my life than I had anticipated, without my consent.”
From 2019 until 2022, the “Vanderpump Rules” stars were married. Their divorce was finalized in October and they share joint custody of their dogs.
“All of the marital troubles and disagreements we were experiencing have now been personified. This bar was the other lady in our marriage, and I’m currently standing inside of her,” she continued.
Before the opening, the two sat down for a conversation, during which Schwartz acknowledged that he was mostly focused on his business interests and not on his former.
“I allowed myself to be sucked into the divorce,” he told Maloney.
Schwartz and his business partner, Tom Sandoval, created a new pub called Schwartz & Sandy’s.
She piped in, “It almost broke you and it almost broke me, so was it worth it?”
“Do not say that,” he instructed. “Lord, I have no idea how to respond. I simply do not want you to ever believe that I picked this place over you.”
Nonetheless, Maloney was insistent that Schwartz’s business came first, with their marriage coming in second.
She explained, “Well, I feel like you chose a great deal over me.” “You have never chosen me in any quarrel or dispute, even when I had your back. It just made me feel like you don’t like me.”
She continued, “I believe there were a number of things I chose to ignore, live with, and believe were acceptable, but they were not.”
Apologizing for his conduct, Maloney’s ex-boyfriend stated, “I’m trying to move on and not beat myself up too much, but I am self-aware.”
He fought back tears as he confessed, “Perhaps I wish I had fought harder for her, but I believe I would have only prolonged her pain, caused her suffering, and diminished her happiness.”
“I’m head over heels in love with this entire bar, lounge, and concept, but sometimes I wonder, ‘Was it worth it?’”
