Kathy Hilton apologizes for putting lip gloss onstage during Mariska Hargitay’s passionate acceptance speech at the People’s Choice Awards in 2022.
“I admire and respect Mariska much,” the 63-year-old “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star revealed to Extra on Friday. “I’ve previously reached out to her via direct message, and I’d like to obtain her address; I feel terrible.”
She said, “I’m sorry, Mariska, I’m truly sorry… I look forward to our conversation.”
Hilton stated that she “would never purposely do anything nasty” and that this was her first time “back on stage with some of the girls” referring to her “RHOBH” co-stars.
The socialite confessed that she was searching for a tissue because she felt the need to sneeze.

She told the outlet, “I was hunting for a tissue, but I didn’t have a tissue or hanky, so I got scared and put on some lipstick.” “Because it was during her speech, I believed the camera was not focused on me.”
Hilton presented the award for Best Drama TV Star alongside her co-stars Dorit Kemsley, Sutton Stracke, Lisa Rinna, Erika Jayne, Kyle Richards, and Crystal Minnoff at the PCAs.
After Hargitay, 58, was announced as the winner, the “Law & Order: SVU” actress mounted the stage and delivered an empowering statement.
Hargitay stated in part, “I just want to honor our ability and readiness to choose love, compassion, and courage, to choose to listen and learn, and to construct a bridge across our differences and our divisions.”
Hargitay won the award for Best Television Actress in a Drama.

While many were impressed by the NBC star’s powerful speech, observant watchers observed Hilton taking a container of lip gloss from her silver Valentino pocketbook and applying it to her lips.
Fans criticized the Casa Del Sol tequila investor on social media for her behavior.

Meanwhile, Hilton’s friend Stracke recently defended her, telling Page Six in an exclusive interview, “I believe she assumed the camera was not on her. I believe she believed the camera had been removed.”
