Kaizer Chiefs: Zwane names two positions that need EXPLOSIVE players

Following his first victory in the hot seat after three losses on the trot, Zwane is sending loud messages to the club’s decision-makers and the support base.

The former winger revealed that his options in the number eight and nine positions do not offer what he or Kaizer Chiefs need. Zwane sent the message during his build-up to this weekend’s game against the DStv Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns.

“Sundowns are playing more or less a similar style (to Gallants), but they’re more deadly and dangerous, because they’ve got good runners upfront,” Zwane said via the club’s website.

Players like (Peter) Shalulile and other strikers, who can hold the ball and wait and have other players join in. That’s the difference between them, in terms of the quality.

The coach who is increasingly being referred to as “Mangethe,” added to hammer his point home. He said Kaizer Chiefs lack the ideal players in the eight and nine positions.

He is therefore sending a tough message to the likes of Samir Nurkovic, Leonardo Castro, and the number eights: Kearyn Baccus, and the young Sabelo Radebe.

“We are going to have to plan for them, like we planned for this one, and we will see how we can also exploit the space behind Sundowns defence, because we don’t have those explosive players in our team at the moment.

“We only have Khama and Keagan, who is also explosive, but in our number eight and number nine positions we don’t have those explosive players. The minute we improve on that aspect we will also be deadly going forward. We will try and work on that,” Zwane went on to say.
