Kaizer Chiefs legendary player, Rudolf Gardner, Seale believes the team has been dethroned as South Africa’s football kings.
The team continues to enjoy the greatest popularity among fans, but Mamelodi Sundowns has surpassed them on the field.
Few people now contest Sundowns’ status as the “IT” club after four consecutive championships and success in the Caf Champions League.
Kaizer Chiefs, according to Seale, are far from catching up with Sundowns.
The former defender does think that the Chiefs might close the gap, but they may need to box skillfully for a half-decade.
“Never! Never my brother, not tomorrow not the day after tomorrow, they will never disturb Sundowns,” Seale told Kickoff.com.
“At Sundowns it has to do with more than getting a good player. The structure, the way Sundowns is being run, it’s so impressive.”
The former Bafana Bafana player thinks Sundowns have an advantage because of their recruitment strategy.
After years of wise purchases, he claims Sundowns may have amassed an unbeatable edge.
“For a player to be good at a certain team you need to give him five or six games just to get used to the club’s environment. This is what Sundowns is doing now, they don’t just sign a player just because the window is open. They sign because they need a player.
“Because you sign a player, you expect him to change the team’s situation just because you have spent money? I don’t think both teams will ever catch Sundowns. Never. No hope. It’s gonna take long huh?
“It might take six, seven years huh? Even more. When these two start thinking about reinforcing their teams, Sundowns will not just sit on their laurels and do nothing. They will also reinforce,” he said.
