Kaizer Chiefs advanced to the semi-finals of the Engen Knockout Challenge U18 annual tournament

At the annual Engen Knockout Challenge, which took place at Marks Park in Johannesburg on Saturday, Kaizer Chiefs continued to fly the Gold & Black flag high. After winning two more games on Saturday, the junior Amakhosi team advanced to the U18 annual tournament’s semifinals.

The 16-team tournament’s Group D was assigned to the Chiefs U18s, who won all three of their group games against Highlands Park, Jomo Cosmos, and Randburg FC.

The young Glamour Boys defeated Highlands Park 2-1 on Saturday to advance to the tournament’s knockout rounds after defeating Randburg FC and Cosmos on Friday. In the final game of the group stage, Chiefs’ Wandile Duba and Jeremiah Thanyane both scored goals.

On Saturday afternoon, Amakhosi, who finished first in Group D, took on Black Aces, who finished second in Group B. Chiefs U18s defeated Aces 2-0 to advance to the semi-finals thanks to goals from Mfundo Vilakazi and Duba.

Duba scored against Amazayoni, giving him three goals in the last four games over the previous two days of the well-liked youth tournament.

The semi-final matchup between the Chiefs U18 team and the School of Excellence is scheduled to begin on Sunday at 11:00 at the same location and will be coached by Ace Khuse and Vela Khumalo.

At 14:00, the women’s finals will take place, and at 15:30, the boys’ final, in which Chiefs, if victorious, will play either SuperSport United or Mamelodi Sundowns U18s.

Later in the year, the winners will compete for the national champions title against other provincial champions.
