Jurgen Klinsmann wishes to talk with Carlos Queiroz, the manager of Iran, to smooth things up following the weekend’s verbal exchanges.

Queiroz branded Klinsmann a “disgrace to football” for his criticism of Iran’s “culture” of manipulating the referees after their 2-0 victory against Wales on Friday.

“Some things were taken out of context. Klinsmann, who won the 1990 World Cup as a player for Germany, stated on BBC on Sunday, “I will attempt to contact him and calm things down.”

Klinsmann stated on Friday that Queiroz, whose Iran team will face the United States on Tuesday to determine which team advances from Group B, “fits really well with the national team and their culture,” adding that “it is not a coincidence, it is part of their culture how they play” that “they worked the referees” during the Wales match.

On November 19, 2022, Jurgen Klinsmann will hold a news conference before to the World Cup.

Klinsmann stated, “They are always in their ear.” “This is their culture, and it throws you off”

Queiroz retorted on Twitter that Klinsmann’s remarks “undermine our efforts, sacrifices, and skills” and demanded that he quit from his position on FIFA’s World Cup technical research committee.

“I have never criticized Carlos or the Iranian bench,” the author states. “Some even assumed I was criticizing the referee since he did nothing about their bench behavior,” Klinsmann stated on Sunday. “All I mentioned was their emotional approach to accomplishing things, which is laudable in a way. The entire bench enjoys the game. Carlos is a very passionate coach who is constantly on the sidelines attempting to give his team all of his energy and guidance.

Iran players and coach Carlos Queiroz celebrate their World Cup victory over Wales on November 25, 2022.

On November 27, 2022, Carlos Queiroz coached Iran at a World Cup practice in Doha, Qatar.

The 58-year-old Klinsmann guided the USMNT to the round of 16 in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. However, he was sacked in 2016 after defeats to Mexico and Costa Rica contributed to the United States’ failure to qualify for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
