New Pantheon

28 July – 23 September 2022

More than 30 collages, works of video art, and an installation by contemporary Black artists, Pantheon Anew, were inspired by the history of Black American spirituality.

The installation, which was planned by artist Saira Barbaric, juxtaposes young people’s and adults’ pop culture to build a brand-new spiritual pantheon with fanciful animals.

The exhibition Barbaric encourages visitors to wander through it at their own pace and choose their own route.

US IN IMMINENT MODE

January 5, 2023 – November 3, 2022

IMMINENT MODE: Us explores our origins, the reasons behind our ancestors’ immigration to this country, and the potential for harmony amongst our many cultural traditions.

Each team will investigate and celebrate its distinct cultural history, expressing it via its creative output.

Teams of garment designers and fine artists are partnered up to work together and produce work for an exhibition that includes a wearable work of art and a sizable installation based on a subject.

At the Opening Gala, a fashion display including a corresponding secondary and tertiary garment will also be held.

Jordan Christianson, Adé A Cônnére, and Anouk Rawkson are responsible for curating IMMINENT MODE.
