A teenage Australian tourist who had fallen six stories from a hotel roof in Thailand was discovered dead.

On Thursday, CCTV footage captured Joshua James Connell, 19, of Canberra, wandering beside a wall by the pool at the Paripas Patong Resort in Phuket.

He was captured on camera waving his hands in the air as he balanced while creeping up on a thin white rail.

The young traveler lost his footing as he approached the rail’s end, falling about 15 meters to his death.

Mr. Connell was taken by ambulance to the hospital but was later declared dead as a result of the serious injuries he sustained in the accident.

Around 5:45 p.m. local time, startled neighborhood residents heard a loud thump and discovered Mr. Connell on the café’s tin roof below the hotel.

‘I had just opened my shop when I heard a big thunder sound,’ said local Ning Tanyaporn.

I believed there had been a car accident or an explosion in their kitchen.

“When the foreign man on the roof was spotted, people gathered around the eatery. Since he was unconscious, someone dialed 911. Everyone was horrified when he collapsed and passed away.

Officers received the emergency call regarding a foreign male who had fallen from a hotel, according to police Lieutenant Colonel Kokiat Boonplod.

When they got there, it was just after 5:50 o’clock. Mr. Connell was taken to the hospital, where his death was later determined.

The deceased fell from the hotel next to the restaurant while wearing only shorts and without a shirt, according to police Lieutenant Colonel Kokiat, who is in charge of the inquiry.

“The restaurant hut’s roof was broken, and there were several broken tiles on the ground.

The deceased’s skull was wounded, and his legs were twisted.

The policeman claimed that after reviewing the hotel’s CCTV, authorities did not think that anyone else was responsible for the tragedy.

Officers are currently questioning hotel workers regarding Mr. Connell’s actions prior to the event and his motivation for climbing the wall.

The Patong Hospital is conducting an autopsy on his body. The Australian Embassy, who communicates with Joshua’s family, has been alerted by the police.

The busiest, round-the-clock adult nightlife in the province is located in Patong, Phuket’s most dynamic neighborhood.

Australian Billy James Simmons, 22, died after falling to his death from a hotel on the same island last month on May 17.
