Joseph Dweba to make Stormers debut vs. Edinburgh

Saturday at Cape Town Stadium, Springbok hooker Joseph Dweba will make his Stormers debut in their United Rugby Championship encounter against Edinburgh.

Six changes were made to the lineup that overcame Connacht in their season-opening match in Stellenbosch last weekend.

Springboks Damian Willemse, Deon Fourie, and Salmaan Moerat will all play for the reigning champions, while Herschel Jantjies will be on the bench.

South African lock Marvin Orie will assume the captaincy for the third-round match against Scotland.

Neethling Fouche replaces the injured Seabelo Senatla at tighthead prop, while Dan du Plessis and Suleiman Hartzenberg trade positions in the backline.

Dobson stated that the team is excited to play at Cape Town Stadium for the first time since their United Rugby Championship grand final encounter against the Bulls last season.

“It’s nice to have a few of our best players back from national duty, and they’ve all fit in smoothly this week,” Dobson added.

“We are all excited to play an early game at Cape Town Stadium, which should be a memorable moment for everyone,” he said.

The match begins at 2:00 p.m.
