JOOSTE’S DEPARTURE FROM ORLANDO PIRATES CONFIRMED

Following the departure of yet another top defender in preparation for the next season, Orlando Pirates are having a busy transfer window.

After the two parties reached an amicable agreement to part ways on Wednesday, Wayde Jooste has now formally left Pirates.

Following a challenging season in which he played sparingly for Mandla Ncikazi and Fadlu Davids, Jooste was first mentioned as a potential exit candidate at Bucs.

Prior to his agency confirming that Jooste and Collins Makgaka were staying at Pirates, it was believed that Chippa United was the only PSL team that had expressed a significant amount of interest in the swift right-back.

Jooste’s agent, Kieran Brown of Sprint Management Group LTD, has now added a new twist to the tale by confirming to Soccer Laduma that his client has left Pirates.

Jooste’s agent Kieran Brown said:

“Wayde Jooste and Orlando Pirates have mutually agreed to terminate his contract,” said Brown.

This is an excellent opportunity for Wayde to push for regular game-time. Wayde is a model professional, both on and off the pitch and I believe this is a case of one team’s loss is another team’s gain in my opinion.”

“A team is going to get an incredibly hard working, fit, dedicated player who I believe is one of the best attacking right backs in the PSL,” added Brown.

During his two years with the Pirates, Jooste appeared in just 39 competitive games. Four assists were given by the 30-year-old during the process.
