John Comitis’ disciplinary case adjourned according to the latest information

Premier Soccer League (PSL) prosecutor Zola Majavu has confirmed that the disciplinary committee’s case against Cape Town City FC chairperson John Comitis has been postponed.

Comitis landed himself in hot water with the PSL after comments he made to journalists in which he criticised the PSL following the decision to grant Kaizer Chiefs replays for two of their December 2021 fixtures.

Those matches were against Comitis’ Cape Town City as well as Golden Arrows.

A SAFA arbitrator controversially ordered that the matches be replayed after Amakhosi failed to show up for either due to an outbreak of Covid-19 at their Naturena base.

Cape Town City beat Kaizer Chiefs in the replay

John Comitis was unhappy that his club weren’t consulted on the date for the replay.

However, Kaizer Chiefs would go on to LOSE both the matches this week by identical 2-1 scorelines to both Golden Arrows (last Wednesday) and Cape Town City (last Saturday).

Majavu confirmed that Comitis did not appear before the DC last Friday as scheduled as he was out of the country.

“Mr Comitis is overseas so the matter has been postponed to May 19,” Majavu said.
