This year, Jeremy Renner is celebrating his birthday in a hospital, but he still feels the love.
On Saturday, the “Hawkeye” star celebrated his 52nd birthday from an intensive care unit after a horrifying snowplow accident left him in “critical” condition for less than a week.
However, Renner put on his Instagram Stories a video from The Base Chicago, a youth group that filmed a birthday tribute for him.
It indicates that the actor routinely volunteered with them.
In the video, children can be seen dancing to 50 Cent’s “In Da Club” while holding signs that spell out Renner’s initials and last name.
“Sending birthday greetings! to @jeremyrenner. “Sending our #thebaseway greetings,” the post’s caption read.
Renner responded in the comments, “I love you all sooooooo much!!! Thanks a lot. You have made my heart sing!!!
In his repost, the “Hurt Locker” actor also wrote, “Thank you for the birthday love!!!
Friday, Renner also acknowledged the hospital personnel that has been caring for him via social media.
The “American Hustle” star captioned a snapshot of himself in a hospital bed, surrounded by nurses and doctors, “Thank you Renowned Medical ICU team for beginning this journey.”
Renner has been recovering for the past several days after being “run over” by a 14,330-pound snowplow while on vacation in Nevada last Sunday.
The Oscar contender was first described as being in “critical but stable condition,” but he later shared a health update along with a selfie from his hospital bed, indicating that his condition was improving.
Tuesday’s Instagram photo from the “Arctic Dogs” star was titled, “Thank you all for your kind words.” “I am currently too confused to type. But I send you all my love.”
The horrific details of Renner’s accident began to surface online shortly thereafter.
In the crash, Renner had “blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries.”
TMZ said on Wednesday, citing an emergency 911 call log, that the “S.W.A.T.” actor’s chest caved and his upper torso was crushed during the collision.
Renner had to be evacuated to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries. It is unknown how long it will take for his recuperation.
