Jeopardy!, a popular quiz show, was thrown into chaos when one of its players was forced to abandon filming partway through his winning streak due to illness.
Ben Chan, a teacher from Green Bay, Wisconsin, had won an impressive $69,001 (£55,459) over three episodes and had qualified for his fourth appearance.
However, he was forced to pull out of the show after he became ill during filming.
He will be returning to the show on May 15th to complete his stint.
Several fans speculated about Chan’s illness, with one suggesting that he had been unwell during filming.
They observed that Chan was rubbing his eyes a lot and appeared to be struggling.
However, another fan said that Chan’s struggles made him more impressive, as it was like watching Michael Jordan playing during his flu game.
While the show did not offer an official comment, a Reddit user observed that the show’s contestant co-ordinator Corina Nusu had left her role, which she had held since 2005.
Nusu’s name was removed from the online credits of the show.
The show has not offered an official comment on her departure. The remaining member of the show’s team is contestant coordinator Laura Guili, who joined the show in 2019.
Despite the show’s recent setbacks, Jeopardy! is widely popular, and viewers eagerly await Ben Chan’s return to the show on May 15th.
